Hossa signed with Detroit in July of 2008. Grizzly Adams did have a beard.

Just make a pitch for Dylan Strome, they are practically the same player

He is staying, they are having the final input session on the new rink on Sunday, one of the 3 original bidders has dropped out "inherently decided situation". He is simply waiting for the word from President, ummm Governor Cuomo to come down in early January and then he is staying, so get over it. Not to mention I think you guys as us, should be looking at that #1 Dman.

Leafs fans are aware of this, trust me.

Trolls and bloggers are the only one bringing this up constantly.

He's not coming to Toronto, but I'm not convinced he stays with NYI. Both Montreal and NYR have the cap space available. Wang has been a terrible owner, maybe JT sick of it, he would likely do better elsewhere.

He is not coming to Toronto, unless he is signing for under 8 million, which I believe everyone agrees is not happening.

With that said, what does anything you just wrote have to do with him re-signing? Is the new rink going to magically make the Islanders a better team with better management?

This isn't a 21 year old coming off an entry level deal. He has played 8 full season and the NYI management have not been able to build much of anything around him. In 8 years 5 missed playoffs, 2 first round exits. In 8 years they have past the 1st round once.

Unless the NYI put together some sort of playoff run that can give him a glimmer of hope they are moving in the right direction, I don't see how stays.

There is no point in even looking at who has cap space or not. He is the kind of player that the majority of teams will find creative ways to make space.

Frustrating one, Andersen was good, can't continue to let teams pull that dirty stuff around the crease. Polak is not the answer, need a big D there to react appropriately when Andersen gets run over.

it would be Garth's blog if we traded 2-way center Tyler Bozak and power forward Josh Leivo for Tavares and a 1st.

It'd be nice to be a team people say, yeah but with Andersen you can never count them out, the same way people do with Montreal and Price

Unfortunately, we have a soft team, none of the pretty boys will stand up for that stuff.

Very true, but if someone touches Price, never mind runs him over like Tkachuk did several times, he gets a Weber cross-check in the head at least.

Despite the cap space they have, there are not a lot of players wanting to go to Montreal. Tavares would be crazy to even consider that team

I can only presume you are very close to several NHL players to make that claim so I'll take your word for it.

Hell, you might be John Tavares himself!
